Harold Eugene "Geno" Merritt Jr., 74, of Put in Bay, Ohio, passed away on July 27, 2026. He was born on November 11, 1951, to Harold Merritt Sr. and Thelma (Traver) Merritt.

Harold was the life of the party. He got to be the best man in many weddings. He was also a man who loved to talk whether you wanted to hear it or not.

Harold was an avid artist who loved to capture the moment and beauty of life around him. He also loved feeding birds. He enjoyed history and had an amazing memory, he loved to share his history facts with anyone who would listen. Harold loved to travel and even lived in Napa Valley, Californina.

He is survived by his niece, Kristine (Angel) Henderly.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sister; Rebecca J. Angel and his great niece, who he adored, Mikayla Marie Angel.

Services will be held privately for the family.
