Obituary

Harry Myers, 90, of Oregon, Ohio passed away January 8, 2009 at the Lutheran Home at Toledo. He was born in Puerto Rico on December 20, 1918 to Cecil and Felicita (Marcus) Myers. Harry graduated from Waite High School and was a U.S. army veteran, serving during World War II. He had been employed for 32 years for the A & P Food Stores and also for several years by IGA. Harry was a member of the American Legion and several VFW Posts. Surviving are his wife of 66 years, Wilma J. Myers; daughter, Judy Sloan; brother, Cecil (Renee) Myers; sister, Katy Alles; grandchildren, Jim (Joanne) Sloan, Julie (Tom) Jester; 6 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Harry was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert (Jessie); sister, Nellie (Nick) Carcus; brother-in-law, Fred Alles and son-in-law, James Sloan. Visitation will be held at Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Sunday from 1-8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Monday at 11:00 a.m. with interment following in Oakwood Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy in Harry's memory can be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the Lutheran Home at Toledo. Thanks to nephew, Robert Strack who helped and cared so much for Harry and brother-in-law, Vernon Zunk, who was a great companion to Harry for many years. Visitation: Sunday, 1:00 - 8:00 p.m. Services: Monday, 11:00 a.m. Interment: Oakwood Cemetery
