Obituary

Harry J. Parsons, 76, of Northwood, OH passed away on November 4, 2006 in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Lockney, West Virginia to Herbert and Oma (Deulley) Parsons on September 9, 1930. Harry worked at the GM Powertrain plant in Toledo for 30 years retiring in 1993.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping with his family.  He loved to spend time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.  In the 1960's he was a volunteer fireman at the Northwood #1 firehouse and was a founding member of REACT in Toledo.  Harry loved the lord most of all and served as a deacon at the Neighborhood Freewill Baptist Church, Oregon, OH.    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Snyder, grandson, Jeremy Parsons and granddaughter, Nicole Parsons.  Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Nina; daughter, Shirley Tarpy of Toledo, OH: sons, Harry D. (Karla) of Walbridge, OH, Michael (Harriett) of Dundee, MI and  Thomas (Debbie) Parsons of Temperence,MI; 11 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren and 4 step-great-grandchildren; sisters, Ruth Barker of Parkersburg, WV, Ida Williams of Newbury, OH, Grace Mathews of Burton, OH and a host of nephews and nieces.   The family will receive friends at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Millbury Chapel, 1111 Woodville Rd. on Monday from 2 to 9 p.m. where funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Restlawn Mausoleum.  The family would like to send our heartfelt appreciation to the nurses and staff from Hospice of Northwest Ohio and ask that any donations be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
