Harry A. Porter, Jr., 81, of Toledo, passed away Thursday, April 10, 2003 in his home surrounded by his family. Harry was born on May 3, 1921 in Ashtabula, Ohio to Harry and Gertrude (Siegler) Porter Sr. He was a US Navy veteran of World War II, serving on the USS Nevada. Mr. Porter was a truck driver for Nicholson Concrete for 30 years, retiring in 1974. Surviving are his loving wife, Una M. Porter; sons, Gerald (Kathleen) Porter, James (Darlene) Porter, Harry (Shirley) Porter and Carl Porter; daughters, Patsy (Wayne) Lindsay, Sally (Charlie) Porter, Susan (John) Van Slyke; sister, Carol Sevra; 15 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Dale W. Porter; brother, Roland Porter and sister, Betty Porter. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 1:00 pm in the Eggleston-Meinert Funeral Home, Woodville Road Chapel, 1111 Woodville Road, Millbury, Ohio where visitation will be Friday from 2-9 pm. Intombment will be in Restlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.
