Helen M. Brown, 82, of Toledo passed way on Friday April 29, 2005 in the Lutheran Home at Toledo. Helen was born in Toledo on May 26, 1922 to John and Vero (Meyers) Wineland. Mrs. Brown was a graduate of Waite High School and a member of Christ United Methodist Church. Helen served as a volunteer at both Parkview and St. Charles Hospitals where she worked in the gift shop. Also she spent many years volunteering for the American Red Cross. Mrs. Brown served as Youth Group leader and taught both Vacation Bible School and Sunday School at Faith United Methodist Church. Helen also acted as den mother for Cub Scout Den #60 at Navarre School. Surviving her are her husband, Kenneth; daughter, Sally (David) Medere; sons, James (Debra) and Gary (Nancy) Brown; brothers, Richard and Jack Wineland; grandchildren, Melanie, Daniel, Stephanie, Aaron, Nathan; one great grandchild, Dylan and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Dewey, Charles, Ralph; sister, Mary Kathryn Petersen. Friends and family may visit at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road at Starr Ave. on Monday from 2-9 p.m. Funeral Services will be conducted in the funeral home on Tuesday at 10:00 am. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
