Helen J. Cheatham, 87, of Harbor View passed away on August 22, 2016 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Toledo on December 27, 1928 to Clarence and Janice (Clawson) Slemp. Helen worked as a clerk for various companies for 25 years before retiring in 1984. Helen is survived by her children, Allen (Caroll) Cheatham, Connie Cheatham, Cindy (Mike) Johnson, Lucy (Bill) Mata, and Russell Cheatham; grandchildren, David, Karen, Sharon, Helen, Rachel, Nicholas, Brian and Cory; 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Allen; siblings Clarence Jr., Betty, Mary and Frances. Friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd., on Friday, August 26, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will take place in the funeral home on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in North Oregon Cemetery.
