Helen M. Cowell, 67, of Toledo, Ohio passed away August 4, 2013 in her home. She was born Toledo, OH on June 17, 1946 to Richard and Hazel (Faulkner) Mauthe. Helen attended Waite High School until 1962 and resided in East Toledo her whole life. She was employed as a cashier at Big Lots for 18 years, retiring in 2004. She loved to play cards, especially poker. She worked hard to provide for her family. Helen ran the Eastside MRDD bowlers league for 5 years and took much pride in all her bowlers. Surviving are her children, Christina (Donny) Ackerman, Vicki (Christopher) Lammie, Carey (Richard) Henderson and David R. Cowell Jr.; grandchildren, Nathan Ackerman, Carl (Tiffany) Markowski, Amiee Mauder, Branden Lammie, Mikayla (William King) Miller, Justen Henderson; great grandchildren, Kira and Rilee Mauder, Cameron King; adopted daughters, Tammy Lenga and Amy Seiler; sister, Carol Holley (John & Tina), and many wonderful friends. Helen was preceded in death by her parents. Visitation will be held at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Wednesday from 2-9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. Private interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Park at a later date.
