Helen M. Donnell, 85, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, November 19, 2015 at the Lutheran Home of Toledo. She was born at home in Oregon Township on July 5, 1930 to Jesse and Beatrice (Skiver) Brown and graduated from Clay High School. Helen was a life-long member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, gardening and was an excellent cook and baker. Her greatest joys were spending time with her family and having the best hand in any card game she played. Helen worked as a beautician with Ra-Ev Beauty Salon for 10 years. She also owned and operated the Peppermint Stick on Navarre Ave. in Oregon for many years and tailored with Sears & Roebuck Co. in the Woodville Mall. In addition to Helen's many career choices, she worked diligently alongside her husband, who in his spare time built homes, having completed seven in the Oregon area. Helen enjoyed traveling and visited all 50 states, but the southwest became and remained her favorite. During their early retirement years she worked side by side with her husband building their winter home in the dessert near Wickenburg, Arizona. Helen spent the winters in Arizona with her husband, Noel and celebrated 67 years of marriage. She is survived by her husband, Noel; brother Kenneth (Drusilla) Brown, sons, Raymond (June) of Richmond, TX, Ronald of Pataskala, OH and Randal of Woodville, OH; daughters, Mary (Joseph) Durst of Nashville, TN and Anne (Gerry) Wasserman of Oregon, OH; 14 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Helen was preceded in death by her parents. A Memorial Mass will be conducted on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at 11:00 AM in St. Ignatius Catholic Church, 212 N. Stadium Road, Oregon, OH where the family will greet family and friends one hour prior to the Mass.
