Helen T. Goetz, 84, of Toledo and lifelong Birmingham resident, passed away Monday, July 26, 2010 at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center. She was born in Toledo, Ohio on August 28, 1925 to John and Teresa (Kerekes) Kiss. Helen was a 1943 graduate of Waite High School. On June 14, 1947 she married Blaine Goetz. Helen was a lifelong member of St. Stephens Catholic Church and its Altar Rosary Society where she served as president. Helen was a longtime member of VFW Post #4906 Auxiliary where she served as president. Helen was also a member of the Hungarian Club of Toledo and the GBU. For many years, she volunteered with the Birmingham Ethnic Festival. Helen is survived by her husband of 63 years, Blaine; daughter, Diane Goetz; and sister-in-law, Marge Kiss. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews; and special friends, Paul Hecklinger family. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Joseph, Zoltan, Steven, and Louis Kiss; brother, John Kish; sister, Mary Jacso; nieces, Mary Lee Alec, MaryAnn Johnson, and Mary Ann Veir. Friends may call at Kinsey Funeral Home, 2001 Consaul Street, Toledo on Wednesday, July 28, 2010 from 4:00-7:00 pm and Thursday, July 29th from 2:00-8:00 pm, where the Rosary will be recited at 4:00 pm. VFW Post #4906 Auxiliary Service at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will begin at 10:45am Friday with prayers in the funeral home and proceed to St. Stephens Catholic Church for Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at St. Ignatius Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to St. Stephens Catholic Church or Helping Hands of St. Louis.
