Helen Abraham Kissinger, 85, formerly of Burger Street in Birmingham East Toledo passed away November 4, 2003 in Genoa Care Center. She was born in Toledo, OH on February 16, 1918 to Nicholas and Verna (Metro) Zam. Helen was the widow of John Abraham and Kenneth Kissinger. She was employed at several companies through the years. The latest being for the Toledo Board of Education as a food service worker for 17 years, retiring in 1983 from East Toledo Junior High. Helen was a member of St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church.
Surviving are her children, Steven (Jan) Abraham, Joseph (Sue) Abraham and Helen (Roger) Sutherland; sisters, Charlotte Bowell, Hazel Kossman and Irma Pfoutz; brother, Ernie (Carol) Zam; grandchildren, David (Aimee) and Mike (Michelle) Sutherland, Karen Katona, Steven (Ana) Abraham Jr., Leslie Abraham and Holly Bryan; great-granddaughter, Lily Katona and several nieces and nephews. She also was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Kathy Sutherland and grandson, Joey Abraham.
Family and friends may visit at the Kinsey Funeral Home, Birmingham Chapel, 2001 Consaul Street, Toledo, OH on Thursday, November 6, 2003 from 2-9 p.m. with the Parastas (Wake) Service at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will begin in the funeral home on Friday at 9:15 a.m. and proceed to St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church for the Divine Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 am. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Contributions in Helen's memory can be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
