Obituary

Helen Lazur, 89, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away on October 24, 2013. She was born in Congo, Ohio on June 14, 1924 to Joseph and Elizabeth (Suto) Kekes. Helen worked at Libbey Owens Ford Company at the East Broadway plant for 30 years. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking, casinos and bingo in her spare time. Helen was active at St. Michael'™s Byzantine Catholic Church as a bingo caller/player and bartender for special events. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were the love of her life. Helen is survived by her loving daughter and son-in-law, Linda & Gean Grosschedl; grandsons, David (Michelle), Matthew (Michelle), and Daniel (Kristen) Grosschedl; great grandchildren, Brenna, Liam, Maeve, Rielly and Drew; and siblings, Alex, Susanna and Margaret. Helen was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 60 years, August; infant daughter, Laurie Ann; and siblings Joseph, Frank, Albert, Steve, Andrew, Elizabeth, Julia and Anne. Friends and family may visit at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel 440 S. Coy Rd., on Tuesday October 29 from 2-8 pm. A Parastas service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will begin in the funeral home on Wednesday beginning at 10:30 am and proceed to St. Michael'™s Byzantine Catholic Church for Divine Liturgy of Christian Burial. Private inurnment will take place in Lake Township Cemetery at a later date. Expressions of sympathy in Helen'™s memory can be made to the St. Michael'™s Byzantine Catholic Church or the charity of the donor'™s choice. Helen'™s family would like to thank Bay Park Emergency and Surgery Unit and the Lutheran Home Rehab Center and Assisted Living for their support.
