Helen A. Manders, 87, passed away October 15, 2003 in Hospice of Northwest Ohio. She was born in Toledo, OH on January 31, 1916 to the late Michael and Rose (Bick) Schmidbauer. Helen was a member of the Navarre Park Senior Center and a life-long member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. She was employed by Hunt Wesson as a floor supervisor for 30 years and in her spare time enjoyed traveling and flower gardening.
Surviving are her son, William, Jr.; sister, Barbara Weithaus and many nieces and nephews. Helen also was preceded in death by her husband, William, Sr.; brothers, Lawrence and Paul Schmidbauer; sisters, Mary Schmidbauer and Rose Beard.
Family and friends may visit in the Eggleston-Meinert-Pavley Funeral Home, Coy Road Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, Oregon, OH on Saturday from 7-9 p.m. and Sunday from 2-9 p.m. with scripture services at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will begin in the Funeral Home at 9:15 a.m. on Monday, October 20, 2003 and proceed to St. Thomas Aquinas Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Contributions in Helen's memory can be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, the Humane Society or Boys Town in Nebraska.
