Helen S. (Lakatos) Reed, 86, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, August 26, 2007, in Bay Park Community Hospital. Helen was born on March 23, 1921, in Toledo to Sandor and Susie Lakatos. She was a 1939 graduate of Waite High School. In 1941 she married Dorman R. Reed Sr. who preceded her in death in 1966. She was employed by JC Penney Company, Jobst Institute, and St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center where she was a unit clerk until her retirement. She was a member of Lotus Chapter, Order of Eastern Stars and St. Mark Lutheran Church. She enjoyed watching ice skating, bowling, sewing and travel but her family was the mainstay and love of her life. Surviving are her children, Dorman Reed Jr. of Little Rock AK., Sue Ellyn (Gary) Cross of Toledo and Terry (Brenda) Reed of Indianapolis, IN; grand-children, Jennifer Reed of Little Rock, Pamela (Doug) Niedzwiecki of Pasadena, CA, Amy (Michael) Lawrence and Gary M. Cross, both of Toledo and Ryan (Tiffany) Cross of Whitehouse, OH; great-grandchildren, Chad and Ashley Lawrence, Jazzmin and Drew Cross; sister, Pearl Hollo; She was also preceded in death by a brother, Alex Lakatos. Throughout her 86 years she touched the lives of family and friends. Her countless acts of unselfish love and kindness will be greatly missed by all. Visitation will be held at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, Oregon, on Wednesday from 5-9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home with interment to take place in Lake Township Cemetery.
