Helen J. Reichow, 84, of Toledo, OH passed away on Sunday, November 19, 2006, in St Vincent Mercy Hospital. Helen was born to Julius and Elizabeth Jakab on March 10, 1922, in Toledo, OH. Helen graduated from Whitney Vocational High School in 1941. She met Howard E. Reichow while working at Willys Overland and they married on August 21, 1943. Helen worked for General Electric for 27 years before retiring to care for her husband. She was a member of Memorial United Church of Christ for over fifty years. Helen loved her family very much and made sure that they were raised to be good Christians. She loved to knit and crochet, making afghans and slippers for all her children and grandchildren. Both Helen and her husband took great pride in working in their flower gardens and yard. She will be greatly missed by her loving family, especially the great-grandchildren who loved to have Grandma come to their birthday parties. Surviving are her children, Steve (Deborah) Reichow, John Reichow, Shirley (Tom) St. Julian and Howard Reichow Jr.; grandchildren, Shane (Kristin) St. Julian, Julie (Chris) Stone, Tracy Reichow, Nicole (Mike) Roach, Bryan Reichow, Daniel Reichow; great-grandchildren, Alexa St. Julian, Lucas Roach, Andrew St. Julian, Zachary Roach, Brendan St. Julian, Avery Roach and Casey Stone. Helen was preceded in death by her father, Julius Jakab; mother, Elizabeth (Jakab) Nagy; step-father, John K. Nagy; husband, Howard E. Reichow; brothers, Julius Jakab, Stephen Jakab and Bill Jakab; sister, Ethel Winters; sister-in-law, Ethel Jakab and Louise Jakab; daughter-in-law, Carol Reichow and grandchildren, John Reichow and Stephanie Reichow. Visitation will be held from 2-9 p.m. on Tuesday, November 21, at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road at Starr Avenue. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday at Memorial United Church of Christ Starr Ave at Plymouth St., Toledo, OH where the family will greet visitors after 9:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Toledo Memorial Park.
