Obituary

Helen L. Settelmeyer, 89, formerly of Lake Township, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, June 29, 2008, at her son's home in Los Angeles, California where she had been living for the past three years. Helen was born in Windber, Pennsylvania on October 27, 1918, to Frank and Mary (Pastorek) Murcko. Helen had worked for the former Buddies Catering now Gladieux Catering prior to retirement. Helen was a member of St. Jerome Catholic Church. In her spare time you could find Helen volunteering at St. Jerome's or playing cards, slot machines, gardening in her vegetable and flower gardens. Helen's real enjoyment was spending time with her family. Surviving are her children, Francis W. (Marilyn) Kitzler, Patricia (Donald) Kegerreis, Thomas (Patricia) Kitzler, Michael (David Leary) Kitzler, Annmarie (Jessie) McGraw; step children, Colette Settelmeyer, Laura Granata, Jeanette (Ray) Novin, Mary Margaret (John) Aman; 20 grandchildren; 28 great- grandchildren and 1 great-great- grandson; brother, Frank Murcko; sister, Ann Volarich. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Francis Kitzler and Lawrence Settelmeyer; special friend, Mel Hall and her great-great-grand-daughter; 5 brothers and 2 sisters. Helen's children would like to express their thanks and gratitude to Juvy Pelarmo for all the love, care and friendship she provided to their mother while living in California Family and friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home Millbury Chapel, 1111 Woodville Road, Millbury, Ohio on Monday from 2-9 p.m. where recitation of the Rosary will be held at 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. in St. Jerome Catholic Church, 300 Warner Street, Walbridge, Ohio where the family will greet friends one hour prior to the mass. Interment will follow in Lake Township Cemetery.
