Obituary

Helen L. Szymanski, 91, of Oregon, Ohio passed away January 9, 2012. She was born in Toledo, Ohio on August 31, 1920 to John and Jessie (Baker) Killian. Helen was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church and a past member of the St. Vincent DePaul Society. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading, working crossword puzzles, watching baseball and most of all spending time with her family. Surviving are her children, Melvin 'œTony' (Billie) Szymanski Jr., Steve Szymanski, Linda (Joe) Banks, Marsha (Ed) Holland, Bill and Jim 'œOJ' Szymanski; 14 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; sisters, Arlene (Richard) Evearitt and Carol Cox. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Melvin Szymanski, brother, John Killian Jr.; sisters, Margie (Lynn) Barns, Eileen Voeglie, Marie Foltz and Kathy (Ray) Jagodzinski. Visitation will be held at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Thursday from 2-8 p.m. The family will greet friends in St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Ignatius Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy in Helen'™s memory can be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Visitation: Thursday, 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday, 9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. in St. Thomas Church Services: Friday, 10:30 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Church Interment: St. Ignatius Cemetery
