Helen E. Vass Helen E. Vass, 95, passed away Friday, February 21, 2003 in the Sacred Heart Home of the Aged. She was born on August 2, 1907, to Robert and Theresa (Torkos) Kalasz in Toledo, Ohio. Helen was the widow of Julius Vass who preceded her in death in 1969, and a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church Surviving are her son, John (Shirley) Vass; brother, Joseph Kalasz; sister, Mary Zigray; 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Helen was preceded in death by her husband, parents, son, James; brothers, Robert, John and Frank Kalasz. Visitation will be held at the Sacred Heart Home for Aged on Sunday from 2 until 9 pm where a wake service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will conducted in the Sacred Heart Home for the Aged on Monday, February 24, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions in honor of Helen may be made to the Little Sisters of the Poor. Arrangements are being handled by the Eggleston-Meinert Funeral Homes.
