Helen L. Whitmarsh, 91, of Oregon, passed away Sunday, February 08, 2009, at the Lutheran Home of Toledo. Helen was born in Toledo, Ohio on September 10, 1917, to Arthur and Ruby (Epmyer) Shovar. On May 31, 1934, she married Ralph S. Whitmarsh who preceded her in death on January 9, 2000. She had worked many years downtown at the Lamson's Department Store retiring in 1964. Helen was a longtime member of Eastminster Presbyterian Church. Helen was also a 60 year member of the Order of Eastern Stars. She also enjoyed spending time at the Oregon Senior Center. Surviving are her loving daughter, Joyce Ann Zemnicki of Oregon; grandchildren, David (Patricia) Zemnicki, Patricia Ann Zemnicki, James (Terri) Zemnicki, Janet (John) Tusing, Julie Lynn Menter; great-grand-children, Joshua and Katie Menter, Allison Tusing. In addition to her husband, Helen was preceded in death by her parents, son, Ralph A.; sisters, Jane Van Cise, Ruth West; brother, Charles Shovar. Visitation will be held at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Tuesday from 2-9 p.m. and where her funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. Private Interment will be at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Those wishing to make a memorial contribution in Helen's memory are asked to consider Eastminster Presbyterian Church or to the Lutheran Home at Toledo.
