Henry H. Gallups, 86, of Toledo, OH passed away December 31, 2007, at Wright Harvey House, Northwood, Ohio. He was born in Seale, Alabama on February 6, 1921, to John and Lydia (Jahns) Gallups. Henry was a veteran of the US Army and was a lifetime member of VFW Post 2898. He was employed with the Paul L. Grace Company. Henry enjoyed playing cards with his family and friends and had a love for his Mercury's. He was a devoted husband of 50 years to his late wife, Golda and a very devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Surviving are his children, Diane Reynolds, Debra (Jack) Soulidis, Dale, Joyce Duke, Henry Jr., Ron, Nancy Grantham and Trisha Smith; brother, Jack; grandchildren, Stacy (Rob) Baer-Long, Sally (Richard) Phillips and Jack Soulidis Jr; 4 great-grandsons and many nieces and nephews. Henry was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Golda; son-in-law, Geno Reynolds and 13 brothers and sisters.
Family and friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, Oregon, Ohio on Thursday, January 3, 2008, from 4-9 p.m. where a VFW service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday in the funeral home at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
