Henry Tober, a life-long resident of east Toledo, was called home peacefully on February 14, 2005 at the age of 90 years. He was born in Toledo, OH on December 22, 1914 to August and Amelia (Ott) Tober. Henry married Dorothy Ruffert in 1938. To this union two sons, William and James Tober were born. Dorothy passed away in 1957. Henry then met and married Alta Hessick along with son, Richard and daughters, Ellen and Mary Hessick. Joining together their families, they raised their children in a dedicated Christian home. Henry was a member of Toledo Gospel Tabernacle and, also, worked and serviced the Oregon Church of the Nazarene all his Christian life. He loved and shared his whole life with his family and many Christian friends. Henry was a tool and die maker all his life.
He was preceded in death by wife, Alta in 1984; daughter, Mary Wulf in 2003; grandchild, Kevin; parents; brothers, William and Oscar and sister, Millie. Left to love and remember him are sons, William (Sally) Tober, Toledo, OH, James (Jan) Tober, Griffin, GA, Richard (Barb) Hessick, Morristown, TN; daughter, Ellen (Bob) Davidson, Morristown TN; 14 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
Friends and family may visit at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, on Tuesday from 2-9 p.m. where funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. Interment will follow in Lake Township Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy in Henry's memory can be made to the American Cancer Society or Alzheimer's Association. Henrys family would like to extend special thanks to all the caregivers at Heartland of Oregon for their loving care and support.
