Herbert 'œHerb' Axel Peterson, 69, of Harbor View, Ohio passed away on Saturday, August 13, 2011 in his home. Mr. Peterson was born in Crow Wing County Minnesota on December 16, 1941 to Arnold and Opal (Harris) Peterson. He was a US Army veteran. Herbert was employed as a Local 85 Boilermaker for over 31 years before his retirement in 2003. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church where he was very active in both church and community ministries. Herb passionately loved his garden, ice cream, Jeopardy, and his beloved dog, Mr. Wilson. Herb'™s memory will live on in the hearts of his beloved wife Karen; children, Dean (Andrea) Davis, James Davis; siblings, Oscar (Artha) Peterson, Mildred (Bob Shaw) Wolf; inlaws, Dianne McGuire, Bob and Mary Smith, Jeannette and Mike Krolak, Jamie and Terry Maurer; grandchildren, Kenny, Jonathan 'œBubba', Tyler, Seth, Justin, Katie, Lynzie, Jayce and great granddaughter, MacKenzie. He will also be missed by his church family and his many nieces and nephews. Friends and family may visit at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Monday, August 15, 2011 from 2 to 9 pm. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 11:00 am in Christ United Methodist Church, Oregon where the family will receive guests beginning at 10:00 am. Interment will be in North Oregon Cemetery.
