Herman G. Brandt, 85, of Martin, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, March 21, 2010 in Genoa Care Center. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on May 19, 1924 to Herman J. and Lydia K. (Schmidlin) Brandt. Mr. Brandt was a 1942 graduate of Clay High School. Herman had been employed at Osterman'™s Jewelers as a watch repairman for over 40 years. After his retirement Herman repaired watches for many years in home in Bono. He always liked working with intricate machinery and wasn'™t a stranger to the interior of pocket watches. Herman was a member of St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church (Blackberry), Gideon'™s and the Friends of Pearson Metropark. Mr. Brandt was a proud resident of Bono and enjoyed farming.
Surviving are his children, Ronald (Sue) Brandt, Darlene (Jeff) Krumn and Heather (Brian) Hamilton; brother, T. Dale Brandt; special friend, Donna Rodriguez; 9 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Herman was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dorothy A. (Yoster) Brandt; son, Donald Brandt and sister, Arlene Ladosky.
Family and friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Wednesday from 2-9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church, 17877 W. State Rte. 579, Martin, Ohio on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be private. Expressions of sympathy in Herman'™s memory can be made to Friends of Pearson Metropark, St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church or Hospice of Northwest Ohio. The family wishes to thank all Herman'™s friends and especially his Bono neighbors who helped him during his later years.
