Howard Mays, 73, of Toledo, Ohio passed away on Saturday, October 11, 2008, at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center. He was born in Williamsburg, KY on April 26, 1935, to John and Florence (McCreary) Mays. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. Howard was a maintenance supervisor at General Motors Hydromatic, retiring in 2000 after 39 years of service. After retirement he worked as a security guard for Continental Services for 8 years. Surviving are his brothers, Charles Mays of Williamsburg, KY, Herbert Mays of Pineville, KY, Ray Mays of Ft. Mitchell, KY, John Mays of Sioux Fall, KY; sisters, Marjorie Harre of Williamsburg, KY and Gracie Mays of Cincinnati, OH; adopted daughters, Robin Paige and Keenan Guisbert. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Arnold and Frank Mays and sisters, Ruby Earls and Dorothy Mays. Visitation will be held at Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, on Tuesday, October 14, 2008, from 2-7 p.m. Additional visitation will take place in Croley Funeral Home of Williamsburg, KY on Thursday where funeral services will take place Friday, October 17th. Interment will follow in Highland Park Cemetery, Williamsburg, KY. Visitation: Tuesday, 2-7 p.m. Services: Friday, 11:00 a.m.
