Irene L. Dusseau, 85 of Oregon, Ohio passed away peacefully at Bayside Commons on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 with her family at her side. Irene was born in Toledo, Ohio on November 24, 1929 to Otto and Thelma (Miller) Meyer. She was a Clay High School Graduate. Irene was a long time member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church, where she was active in several ministries.. Prior to retiring, Irene had worked at various flower shops as a floral designer. Irene enjoyed playing bunco, pinnacle and bowling with her friends. She also enjoyed watching the Detroit Tigers. Irene had traveled to much of the United States including Hawaii; traveling also to the Caribbean and abroad to Europe. She also volunteered at St. Charles Hospital Admitting Dept.; St. Louis Helping Hands and the Eastern Maumee Bay Chamber of Commerce.
Surviving are her children, Carol (Thomas) Reed, Debra Warnke, Donald (Alice) Dusseau; grandchildren, Amy Adamski, Angela Harig, Benjamin Warnke, Nichole Johnston; 9 great grandchildren; brother, Fred (Donna) Ackerman. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. Irene was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; parents; sister, Linda Curran, who she and Don raised since Linda was 7 as their own; brother, Charles Meyer; son-in-law, Terry Warnke.
Visitation will be held at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel. 440 S. Coy Road on Friday from 2-8 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Ignatius Catholic Church, 212 N. Stadium Rd. on Saturday at 10:00 AM and where the family will greet friends one hour before the Mass. Interment will follow in St. Ignatius Cemetery.
