Irene M. Farkas passed away on Friday, January 11, 2019. Irene was a proud graduate of St. Ursula Acadamy, class of 1940, and went on to become the office manager at the Spangler Company for the next 35 years. She married Jospeh Farkas in 1956 and he preceded her in death in 1990. Her parents, Joseph and Anna Orosz operated the well-known, "Orosz Joe's Confectionary" on Consaul Street in Birmingham for 60 years. They preceded her in death along, with her sister-in-laws, Angela Fox and Patricia Farkas; cousin Steve Zadesky; and friends, William Kersey and Mary Jean Nyitray. Survivors include several nieces and nephews; several grand nieces and nephews; cousins, Kathy and Larry Bogo and Marjorie and Larry Zedaker; and special friends, Patrica Kersey, Francis Grau, Becky Gast, Ronald and Debbie Collins and Kim DeStazio. Visitation will be held at Epiphany of the Lord – St. Stephen's Parish, 1880 Gennesse St., Toledo, on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 11:00 a.m. Inurnment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
