Irene M. Goodwin, 99, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, April 1, 2026. Irene was born in Cleveland, Ohio July 14, 1926, to Julius and Julia (Torok) Vargyas. Irene worked many years at Doehler Jarvis as an inspector. She loved cooking authentic Hungarian dishes, was an avid bingo player, enjoyed visiting Hollywood Casino, and cheering on the Atlanta Braves.

Irene is survived by her daughter, Karen Goodwin. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leonard; daughter, Lindsay; and siblings, Andy, Joseph, Steve, Julius, Mary, Vera, and Ann.

The family will receive friends at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road Tuesday, April 7, 2026, from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm. Funeral services Wednesday, April 8, at 10:00 am in the funeral home. Interment: Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Preferred memorials to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
