Irene V. Latimore, 80, of Sylvania, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg. Irene was born in Toledo, Ohio on October 3, 1935 to Gus and Elizabeth (Frihauf) George. For many years, Irene worked in the meat department at A & P Food Mart and as an election board poll worker for 30 years. Irene enjoyed volunteering at Helping Hands of St. Louis, watching golf, babysitting and caring for dogs.
Irene is survived by her siblings, Emil (Nancy) George, Gus (Patricia) George, and Mary (Joseph) Molnar; nieces and nephews, Kelly, Karen, Melissa, Tracey, Terri, and Joey; along with many loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lavan Latimore; daughter, Linda (Dale) Piszchala; son, Andrew Latimore; and dear friend, Barry Greenblatt.
Friends may call at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Saturday, February 27, 2016 from 10:00 am until time of funeral service at 12:00 pm. Interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to Helping Hands of St. Louis or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
