Irene (Booth) Thomas, 72, of Oregon, Ohio and formerly of Akron, passed away Saturday, July 2, 2011 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Akron, Ohio on February 25, 1939. She was a graduate of Cuyahoga Falls High School and Hammel Actual Business College. For many years, Irene worked as an accountant but found her greatest joy as a volunteer patient care assistant for the Visiting Nurses Association. Irene is survived by her nieces, Miley, Lori, Jill, and Heather; nephews, Bob, Ken, Josh, Michael, Neal, and Mark; good friends, Darla, Dianne, Dawn, Marti, Sherry, Marsha, Elaine, Brenda, Cecil, Matt, and Virginia Kochanski. She was preceded in death by her husband, R.V., brothers, Lou and Don, nephew, Don, good friends, Bud, George, Cindy, Buster, and Angel.
