Obituary

Irma Jean Byrnes, age 70, passed away peacefully at her home in Lake Township, Ohio, on February 9, 2025. Born on September 24, 1954, to Frederick and Grace (née Bitter) Schober, Irma was a lifelong resident of Lake Township and a devoted member of Zion Lutheran Church in Latcha.

Irma graduated with honors, from Lake High School, Class of 1972, and spent her career working in various roles within the banking industry. She enjoyed traveling and cherished the years she spent wintering in Arizona with her friends "out west." Irma had a passion for basketball and attended over a dozen Men's NCAA Final Four basketball tournaments. She was also an avid supporter of area high school sports, often found cheering on her great-nieces and great-nephew from the stands.

She is survived by her beloved sisters, Rita Schober and Nancy (Jack) Rapelje; her dear friend and sister-in-law, Marlene Schober; her devoted nieces, Sarah (Billy Hamilton, Jr) Rapelje, Amy (Brian) Vorst, and Carla (Rob Herman) Schober; and her cherished nephew, Hans (Lauren) Schober; dear friend and cousin Mike Sibbersen; and numerous grand-nieces, grand-nephews, cousins, and extended family. Irma's faithful feline companion, Missy, was always by her side, bringing joy and comfort to her life.

Irma was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Carl Schober, and her former husband, Daniel Byrnes.

Irma will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her. Her legacy of kindness, love, and compassion for all creatures will forever be remembered.

The family will greet friends at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Millbury Chapel 1111 Woodville Rd., Millbury, Ohio, on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. The family will also greet friends on Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at Zion Lutheran Church, 26535 Pemberville Rd, Perrysburg, OH 43551, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor James Dumke officiating.
