Irving E. Sanks
Irving Sanks, 84, of Oregon, Ohio passed away on Sunday, April 6, 2003 in St. Luke's Hospital. He was born on February 3, 1919 to William and Melvina(Shedlowski) Sanks in Toledo, OH. He was a US Air Force veteran of World War II, a member of Christ Dunberger Post No 537 and a life time member of First St.
Mark's Lutheran Church. Mr. Sanks retired in 1984 from the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 50 after 50 years
of service. Irving was a very talented man and had many hobbies and interests in which he could conquer any challenge presented to him. He liked to travel extensively and loved to spend time with children, volunteering at Raymer School. He also had a love for singing and was a lifetime member of the Velvetone Choraliers.
Surviving are his loving wife of 16 years, Joan Breier-Sanks; children, Douglas (Debbie) Sanks, Mary (William)
Graham, Kathleen Sanks, David (Jenny) Sanks, Teresa (Andrew) Gocsik, Nancy Sanks, Gary (Sally) Breier, Gregory (Becky) Breier and Rick (Debi) Breier; sisters, Helen Brower and Virginia Keller; 11 grandchildren; 5
great-grandchildren and many other loving family members and friends. Irving was preceded in death by his
parents and daughter, Carol Sanks.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, April 9, 2003 at 11 am in First St. Mark's Lutheran Church,
Oregon, OH. Visitation will be held in the Eggleston-Meinert Funeral Home, Coy Road Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road at Starr Avenue, on Monday from 7 to 9 pm and Tuesday from 2 to 9 pm. Dunberger Post services will be Tuesday at 7 pm. Interment will be in Lake Township Cemetery. The family suggest contributions in
Irving's memory be made to Clay High School or Cardinal Stritch High School music departments.
