Ismael N. Castillo Sr., 85, of Toledo, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2013. Ismael was born on February 28, 1928 in Eagle Lake, Texas to Jose and Maria (Narvis) Castillo. Ismael worked as a laborer for Sam Geraldo Construction and Plabell Rubber before retiring. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Jackman Rd. Chapter for 50 years. Ismael loved watching wrestling, especially Monday Night Raw. He was always there to help someone whenever they needed and welcomed everyone with open arms. He truly had a heart of gold. Surviving are his children, Ismael (Tammy Szegedi) Castillo Jr., Maria Zapata, Jose (Guadalupe) Castillo, Martina Castillo and Connie (Richard) Hrebic; son-in-law, Julian Rodriguez Jr; siblings, Paul (Evangelina), Victoria (Ruben) Guajardo, Frank (Mary) and Salome (LaLa) Torres; 22 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Ismael was preceded in death by his parents; step daughter, Adeline Rodriguez son-in-law, Julian C. Zapata Jr.; siblings, Trinidad, John, Jesse, Ralph and Lupe; and great-granddaughter Addyson. Friends may call at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Millbury Chapel, 1111 Woodville Rd. on Sunday, March 10, 2013 from 2:00-8:00 pm. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Monday, March 11, 2013 at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Clay Township Cemetery.
