Obituary

Jackie R. Burke, 82, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away Friday, October 26, 2012 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. Jackie was born on April 4, 1930 in Toledo, Ohio. On November 5, 1949, she married Charles Burke. Jackie was employed as a bus driver for Lucas County Board of Developmental Disabilities for 15 years. In her spare time, she enjoyed working jigsaw and word puzzles along with collecting pitcher and bowl sets. Her true passion was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Jackie is survived by her children; Michael (Cheryl) Burke, Kathleen Ruiz, Daniel Burke, and Debra (Jim) Edmondson; daughter-in-law, Sandra Burke; 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years, Charles; son, Charles Jr.; son-in-law, Alfonso Ruiz; and granddaughter, Tonya Ruiz. Friends may call at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Monday, October 29th from 2:00-8:00 pm. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, October 30th at 11:00 am in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Lake Township Cemetery. The family wishes to thank the staff of Senior Independence Hospice for the loving care they gave Jackie, especially nurses Anne and Julie.
