Jacob A. Kovacs, 42, of Battle Creek, Michigan, formerly of Toledo, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, November 12, 2024. He was born in Oregon, Ohio on February 24, 1982 to Andrew and Pamela (Hanudel) Kovacs. Jake graduated from Cardinal Stritch Class of 2000. During his high school years, he had aspirations of becoming an architect or maybe a lawyer. He had several jobs over the years but his favorite was landscaping. He enjoyed cheering for The Ohio State Buckeyes, San Fransico 49ers and watching NASCAR, especially Jeff Gordon. He also enjoyed throwing darts, playing pool and golfing.

Jake is survived by his parents, Andy and Pam Kovacs; brother, Nathan (Elyse) Kovacs; sister, Megan (Chris) Braband; daughters, Isabella and Hadley; nephews, Keagan, Jameson, Tyler; nieces, Emma and Kailynn; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mary Jo and Richard Hanudel; Frank and Frances Kovacs; aunt, Terri Weislak; and uncles, Rick Hanudel and Ken Morgan.

The family will receive friends at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road Wednesday, November 20, 2024 from 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Thursday, November 21, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Ignatius Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family asks expressions of sympathy be directed to the Kovacs Family or St. Louis Helping Hands.
