James C. Ackerman, 74, of Gibsonburg, Ohio passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2009 in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on January 17, 1935 to George and Elsie (Koob) Ackerman. James was a 1953 graduate of Clay High School. He was self employed as local farmer and was active in many agricultural organizations in the area. Mr. Ackerman was a member of First St. John Lutheran Church and the G.A.F. Society. Surviving are his sons, Dean (Kristie), Donald (Debra) and Dave (Amy) Ackerman; brother, George (Elaine) Ackerman; sister, Ruth Cummerow; grandchildren, Katie (Ben) Nduati, Ryan, Jason, Emily and Lindsay. James was preceded in death by his wife, Lois; parents; sister, Dorothy Bauer; brother, Harold and granddaughter, Ellen Ackerman. Friends and family may visit at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Millbury Chapel, 1111Woodville Road, Millbury on Saturday, October, 24, 2009 from 2- 9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday at 3:00 pm in First St. John's Lutheran Church 2471 Seaman St., where family will greet friends beginning at 1:00 pm. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery.
