James Robert Burnette, 69, of Oregon went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 25, 2005 in Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg. James was born on September 17, 1936 in Lawton, West Virginia to James F. and Edith (Burdette) Burnette. Mr. Burnette was a Navy veteran of the Korean War. He was employed as a millwright at both Strong Electric and Dura Corporation before he became the maintenance director at Harborside Health Care in Perrysburg. He was a member of East Toledo Baptist Church and Paragon (Lotus) Masonic Lodge.
Surviving are his former wife, Dianne; mother, Edith Burnette; daughters, Kathy (Sam) Steffen, Kris (Brian) Herbert; son, Cary (Wendy) Burnette; brothers, George (Eileen) and Dave Burnette; grandchildren, Steven, Ashley Luce, Will, Alex, and Faith Steffen, Cary "C.J.", Zach Burnette and Brendan Herbert. He was preceded in death by his father, James and brothers, Cary and Thomas Burnette
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 11:00 am in East Toledo Baptist Church, 811 East Broadway. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 2 to 9 pm in the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road at Starr Avenue. Paragon Masonic services will be Tuesday at 7:30 pm. Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Park. Memorial contributions in James's memory can be made to either Hospice of Northwest Ohio or East Toledo Baptist Church.
