Obituary

James R. Dixon, 72, passed away Tuesday, January 13, 2009 at Bay Park Community Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on August 5, 1936 to William and Edna (Vess) Dixon. Jim was employed at Unicast Steel Company, and then at Ivy Steel Wire from where he retired in 1999. He was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church. Jim enjoyed spending his retirement with his grandsons. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 42 years, Margaret "Peggy" (Hornyak); the girls, Missy "Fil", Tina (Shane Reinhart), Nicole, Jackie and Lucy; grandsons, Griffin and Troy Reinhart; sisters, Pearl Owens and Edna Irene Whitkovic; brother, Donald (Rachel) Dixon; mother-in-law, Lucy Hornyak; many nieces and nephews. Jim was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Audrey Huffman and Alberta Smathers; brothers, William, George and Jack Dixon. Friends and family may visit at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Sunday, January 18, 2009 from 2-9 p.m. with recitation of the rosary at 4 p.m. Funeral services will begin in the funeral home on Monday at 9:15 a.m. and proceed to Sacred Heart Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in North Oregon Cemetery. Those wishing to make a memorial contribution are asked to consider St. Stephen's Parish. The family would like to extend special thanks to his doctors, nurses and the entire staff at Bay Park Community Hospital for the wonderful care they gave Jim over the past year. Visitation: Sunday, 2:00 - 9:00 p.m. with recitation of the rosary at 4:00 p.m. Services: Monday, 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church Interment: North Oregon Cemetery
