Jim Graver, 69, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on October 9, 1947 to Howard and Virginia (Greene) Graver. Mr. Graver was a member of the first graduating class at Cardinal Stritch High School. Jim played baseball for Defiance College, graduating in 1969. He enjoyed playing baseball and coaching his sons' teams following college. Jim was a dedicated fan and season ticket holder of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. On June 15, 2002, he married Joanie Bodette. A devoted Catholic, Jim was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church where he served as a Eucharistic Minister and member of the Adoration Chapel. Jim worked in the insurance industry for over 30 years. He owned and operated the Jim Graver American Family Insurance Agency in Oregon, Ohio for the past 19 years. Jim will be remembered for his dedication to his friends and family; especially his children and grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him and the great example he set as a gentleman and friend. Jim is survived by his wife of 14 years, Joanie; children, Nate (Amy) Graver, Chris (Lindsay) Graver, Rachael (Jarman) Davis, and Jason (Paula) Bodette; grandchildren, Bailey, Jacob, Quinn, Grace, Hannah, Nora, Will, Austin, Delani, Addisen, and Jax; brothers, Bill (Moe) Graver, Bob Graver, and Jerry (Louann) Graver; brother-in-law, Brian Koenig; along with many nieces, nephews, loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Pam Graver-Koenig. The family will receive friends at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Sunday, February 19, 2017 from 12:00 pm – 6:00 pm where a scripture service will be held at 5:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, February 20, 2017 at 10:00 am in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church 2729 124th Street Toledo, where the family will receive friends beginning at 9:00 am. Graveside services will be conducted at 1:30 pm at Restlawn Memorial Park. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church or Cardinal Stritch Catholic High School.
