James D. Grissinger, 79, of Oregon, Ohio passed away on Saturday, August 19, 2006 in Flower Hospital. James was born in New London, Ohio on June 24, 1927 to Orville and Helene (Hoover) Grissinger. James was a US Navy veteran serving in the Pacific during World War II. James was the owner and operator of Grissinger Appliance Service for over 40 years, He was a member of Eastminster United Presbyterian Church.. Mr. Grissinger was active in the Boy Scouts, Feed Your Neighbor and after his retirement he enjoyed tutoring children at Eastside Central School. He enjoyed reading, especially history and adventure books.
Surviving are her loving wife, Betty; sons, Thomas (Victoria) of Temperance, James R. (Janet) Grissinger of Avon Lake, OH; daughter, Laurel (Kim) Babb of Fostoria; grandchildren, Thomas Grissinger Jr., Christopher Babb, Craig Babb, Jaclyn Grissinger and Julia Grissinger
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 11:00 am in the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road at Starr Avenue where visitation will be from 2 to 9 pm on Wednesday. Interment will be in Highland Memory Gardens in Waterville. The family suggests memorial contributions in James's memory be made to either Eastminster Church or the charity of the donor's choice.
