James Harry Fouty, 69, of Oregon, OH passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2005 in his residence. He was born on September 4, 1935 in Wauseon, OH to Howard and Velma (Punches) Fouty. Jim was a 1953 graduate of Clay High School and served in the US Navy aboard the USS Grand Canyon AD 28 for 2 yrs. followed by 6 yrs. of inactive reserves. On February 15, 1958 he married Marlene Lauman. Jim worked for Libbey Owens Ford for 15 yrs and 25 yrs for Fouty & Company Inc. as a welder and salesman, retiring in 1991 due to disability. He was a member of First St. John Lutheran Church, Toledo, OH where he served as an elder on church council and was a past member of their dart ball team. Jim was also a member of the Yondota Masonic Lodge #752 now known as Paragon Lodge #788. In addition to his loving wife of 47 years, Marlene (Lauman); Jim is also survived by his sons, Jonathon (Sue) and Gregory; brothers, Marion (Joyce), Charles (Bernie), and Richard; grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Jim was preceded in death by his son, Douglas, parents, niece, Amie Fouty and stepmother, Betty D. Fouty. Visitation will be Friday from 2-9 p.m. at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road at Starr Ave. with a Masonic Paragon (Yondota) service at 7:30 p.m.. Funeral services will be conducted in First St. John Lutheran Church, 2471 Seaman St., Toledo, OH on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. and where the family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery. Memorial donations in Jim's memory may be given to the First St. John current fund or kitchen fund for tables or to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
