James Jim Smith, 84 formerly of Sylvania Township passed away Friday, June 2, 2006 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo Unit.  Jim was born in Birmingham, Alabama on October 27, 1921 to Julius V. and Mary (Bimbo) Smith.  Jim was a WWII Army Veteran.  He had retired from Ohio Bell as a assignment coordinator in 1983 after 38 years of service.  Jim was a member of Echo Meadows Church of Christ.   Surviving are his loving wife, Lucinda; children, Beverly Wilson, Gloria (Gary) Burks, Jodi, Fran, Michael Washington, Adrienne Washington Harris; 12 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren; sisters, Ora Jackson, Johnnie McJeter, Luvera Edmondson, Alberta Phillips.   Friends and family may visit at Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, Oregon, OH on Monday, June 5, 2006 from 2-8 pm. . Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday at 11:00a.m. in the Echo Meadows Church of Christ, 2905 Starr Avenue, Oregon, Ohio where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.    Interment will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park Cemetery.   Those wishing to make an expression of sympathy in Jim's memory are asked to consider Echo Meadows Church of Christ or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
