James P. Moroni, 66, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away Saturday, June 9, 2018 at Mercy Health St. Vincent Medical Center. Jim was born in Herrin, Illinois on December 3, 1951 to Eugene and Wilma Moroni. Mr. Moroni worked as an operator with BP Refinery and served on many boards and a committee member for 25 years with United Steelworkers #1-346. Jim is survived by his son, James Moroni; siblings, Cyndi (James) Turner, Nancy (Dan) Gouge, and Tom (Patti) Moroni; and former wife, Clarice Michele Moroni. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, John Moroni and Rosemary Moroni; and daughter, Audra Moroni. The family will receive friends at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 from 2:00 pm – 8:00pm. Private burial will take place in Herrin, Illinois. Expressions of sympathy may be directed in the form of contributions to USW1-346 charitable events for children.
