Janet C. McBride, 91 of Oregon, Ohio, passed away Monday, October 30, 2006 at Harborside of Perrysburg. Janet was born in Toledo, Ohio on September 20, 1915 to Ernest and Agnes (Finn) Hunt. She had graduated from Waite High School in 1934. Janet had retired from Sun Oil Company in 1972 where she was the switchboard operator for 28 years. She had also worked at Ohio Bell Telephone. Janet was a member of the former Holy Rosary Church and also attended St. Patrick's Catholic Church. She served as president, vice president and secretary for the Desk and Derrik Club. She volunteered for St. Charles Mercy Hospital in the gift shop and a member of the auxiliary for 25 years. She was also a member of the Ottawa River Yacht Club for 50 years.
Surviving are her children, Mary Jo Hanudel, Kaye J. (Stan) Tomsic, Robert L. (Jan) McBride, Nan Schneider; 14 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren. Also surviving are her sister, Ida Stoup and brother, Ernest Hunt. Janet was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert T. McBride; grandson, Gery Tomsic; great grandson, Matthew Hanudel; her son in law, Dick Hanudel, and her sister, Lena Pilzecker.
Visitation will be held at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Wednesday from 2 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. with interment following in North Oregon Cemetery. Those wishing to make an expression of sympathy in Janet's memory are asked to consider St. Charles Mercy Hospital Auxiliary or to the donor's choice.
