Janice Rae Ameling, 71, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away Monday, April 13, 2015 at University of Michigan Hospital. She was born on December 16, 1943 to Albert and Jeannette (Roth) Hoyt. After graduating high school Janice married the love of her life Ron Ameling on February 1, 1964. She worked at GMAC as an accountant for 30 years before retiring in 1994. Janice and her husband enjoyed traveling to the Carribean, going on Windjammer Cruises, and camping at various campgrounds. She was a member of the Eastern Star, Yondota Chapter. Her true passion was being able to help others around her. She took great pride in the work she did with Healing Touch Therapy. Janice was a very caring and generous person who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Surviving is her husband of 51 years, Ron Ameling; daughter, Jacquelyn (Paul) Quinlan; mother, Jeannette Hoyt; grandchildren, Jacob and Jonathon Quinlan; sister-in-law, Mary (Larry Sandwisch) Ameling; brother-in-law, LeRoy (Lynne) Ameling; and nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel. 440 S. Coy Road on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 from 4-9 pm. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Thursday, April 16, 2015 at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park. Those wishing to make an expression of sympathy in Janice's memory are asked to consider Alzheimer's Association or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
