Janice A. (Lester) Becker, 85, of Perrysburg passed away Tuesday, August 22, 2017. She was born in Toledo, Ohio to Margaret (Sommers) Lester and James Lester. She was a graduate of Waite High School and the University of Toledo. She taught in the Toledo Public Schools for 32 years. She enjoyed getting together with lifelong friends from the old neighborhood, reading and playing cards. Active with ADK Sorority, she supported their work for education advancement and enjoyed the many friendships she made. All who knew her were entertained with the many stories of her amazing pets. A rescue cat or dog was always present in her home and considered part of the family. Janice is survived by children Charles, Steven (Nancy), Rodney (Rosa), William, Martin (Laurie), Jennifer, Paula (Brian Hengen), Jorgiann (Dave Schuck) and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, devoted sister Barbara Lester, daughter Catherine (Roland) Hansen, son Jeffrey and beloved cousins Howard Sommers and Dorathy (Albert) Frayer. Friends and family may visit Eggleston, Meinert, & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel 440 S. Coy Road Saturday, September 2, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of memorial service at 11:00 am.
