Jean E. Baker, 79, of Curtice, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, June 28, 2005, at St. Charles Mercy Hospital. She was born on November 23, 1925, to Edward G. and Clara (Dipman) Lenz. Jean was a teacher for over 20 years working in the Genoa School District until 1970. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing, and loved animals. Jean also was active with Girl Scouts, 4-H Club, and The Grange.
Surviving are her husband, Ralph A. Baker Jr.; daughters, Sharon (Charles) Hosley, Jacquelin (Michael) Critchfield, and Peggy (Philip) Estes; son, Ralph Baker III; grandchildren, Jennifer, Ariel, and Zachary Estes, along with Todd and Joseph Hosley and 1 great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday and Thursday from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Millbury Chapel, 1111 Woodville Road, Millbury. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 1, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Elliston Cemetery. Those wishing to make an expression of sympathy in Jeans memory are asked to consider the Ottawa County Humane Society or the American Diabetes Association.
