Jean M. Cramer of Oregon, Ohio passed away peacefully at St. Luke's Hospital on Monday, September 24, 2007 after a brief illness. She was born on October 6, 1923 in Millbury, Ohio to Clyde and Fern (Vine) Hicks. Jean was a 1941 graduate of Lake High School. Prior to starting a family in 1951, she was employed as a clerk for the Ann Arbor Railroad and at the Libbey Owens Ford Company. Jean was the widow of Phillip J. Joe Cramer, who preceded her in death in 1987. She was a loving wife and mother. Jean was known for her delectable Christmas cookies that she baked every year for family and friends. In addition to baking, Jean was an accomplished seamstress, and she made many of her own clothes, draperies and wall hangings. She also made items for her friends and family. Jean was a member of the First Unitarian Church, Collingwood Blvd., Toledo, Ohio, and she enjoyed bowling in the Sunettes bowling league.
Surviving are her loving son, Phillip L Cramer of Perrysburg, Ohio; brother, Marion J. Hicks of Millbury, Ohio and several nieces and nephews. Jean was preceded by her husband and her parents.
Visitation will be held at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel 440 S. Coy Road, Oregon, Ohio on Thursday from 2-9 p.m. where funeral services will be conducted on Friday at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Memorial may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Jean's family would like to thank the staff at St. Charles Hospital ICU and St. Luke's Hospital CVU for their care and support.
