Jean C. Davis, 91, passed peacefully on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 surrounded by family.

Jean was born March 3, 1931 in Whitley County, Kentucky to Wils and Mabel Cox. Jean loved watching the leaves change color on the farm in Wolf Creek where she grew up. In 1945, Jean graduated from Pleasant View High School when she was just 14 years old. She worked at St. Vincent Hospital as an Assistant Dietician, retiring in 1995.

Jean is survived by her children; Cheryl and Catherine; siblings; Frank, Betty, Shirley, Judy, Sandy and Patsy; grandchildren Kim, Chris, Jennifer (Bryan), Michael (Heather), Summer (Keith), Dawn (Chet), Cassie (Paul), Terrance, Heather, Tim (Kalen), and Ashley (Mike); 27 great grandchildren, 14 great great grandchildren and the countless bonus littles she loved with all heart. Preceded in death by her son, Michael and her daughter, Sharon; grandson Wayne; siblings Jennings, Demaris, Thelma and Mark; and nephews Paul, Willie M, Willie P and John

Jean will especially be remembered for her beautiful smile and fiery spirit. She was so intelligent and had an impact on every person she met. She loved to tell stories to her family; especially the story about how she loved to play trucks with her brother in front of their childhood home, so much so for Christmas she asked Santa for a Tonka Pickup Truck, but instead Santa brought her a Baby Doll and brought her stinky brother the Tonka Truck. She was so mad at Santa! She told him he didn't have to give her gifts ever again, all she wanted was her yellow Tonka Truck and she didn't receive it… until she was 90!! That's when Cameron heard the story and it made him so sad he had to get Granny that yellow Tonka Truck!!

Jean leaves behind her legacy as being a strong, single mother, extra loving grandmother not only to her family but also her family's friends through the decades. Along with being a friend to anyone and all who needed one. From all of us left to cherish your memory, I love you a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck! Forever and always.

The family will receive friends at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road Thursday, November 3, 2022 from 2:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Funeral services Friday, November 4 at 10:30 am in the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to the charity of the donor's choice.
