Obituary

Jean M. Dominique, 88, of Oregon, Ohio passed away on Saturday, October 18, 2008 in the Toledo Hospital.  She was born in Oregon, Ohio on September 6, 1920 to Joseph and Helen (Romstadt) Haas.  Jean graduated from Central Catholic High School and become an R.N. after completing the St. Vincents nursing program.  She served our country as a Naval Nurse during WWII and worked at Willys Overland as a nurse after the war.  Jean retired from St. Vincents Medical Center and St. Charles Hospital after 39 years as an R.N.  She was a member of Sacred Heart Church enjoyed baking, sewing and making quilts.  Surviving are her husband of 58 years, Phillip W.; children, Denise D. (Dr. Daniel) LeGrand of Indianapolis, IN, Phillip J. (Christina) Dominique of Oregon, OH and SueAnn M. Bigelow of Elmore, OH; identical twin sister, Doris B. Cray; sisters, JoAnne (John) Mermer and Marie L. Brannan; sister-in-law, Gloria Haas; 7 grandchildren and 6 grandchildren. Jean was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Bernadine (John) Semanson; brother, William Haas; brothers-in-law, Chuck Cray and Robert Brannan.  Visitation will be held at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, Oregon, Ohio on Tuesday from 4 to 8 pm with a Scripture service at 7 pm.  Funeral mass will be held on Wednesday in Sacred Heart Church 509 Oswald St. Toledo, Ohio at 10 am where the family will greet visitors after 9 am.  Interment will take place in St. Ignatius Cemetery.  The family suggests memorial contributions in Jeans memory be made to either Sacred Heart Church or American Heart Association. Visitation: Tuesday, 4-8 p.m. Services: 10:00 a.m.
