Jean Louise (Lewandowski) Scott, 62, who loved gathering her family around her on holidays and birthdays, passed away unexpectedly on October 27, 2013, at her home in Oregon. She was born in Toledo, Ohio, to Ervin and Verna (Brown) Lewandowski. She graduated from Whitmer High School and earned her bachelors degree from Heidelberg University by taking one class at a time for many, many years. She worked at Northwest Ohio Development Center for 25 years, retiring in 2011. Jean was fun-loving and a hard worker, who also loved shopping, the holidays, her cats, and spending time with her husband, Karroll "Scotty" Scott, who she met later in life. She also loved finding the perfect gifts for her daughters, granddaughters, and numerous nieces and nephews. The Toledo Zoo, Sauders Village, Shipshewana, and Walden Woods were some of her favorite places to arrange family outings. When family members arrived, theyd find that Jean and Scotty had gotten there hours earlier to get the best tables, which shed decorated, and have presents waiting for the children.
A member of St. Stephen Catholic Church, Jean was preceded in death by her
father, Ervin, and is survived by her mother, Verna; loving husband, Scotty; daughters, Dawn (Ken) Hall and Lori Johnson; granddaughters, Chelsea and Elizabeth; sisters, Betty (David) Schupp, Mary (David) Lewandowski, and Judy (David) Murray, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. Friday at Eggleston-Meinert-Pavley Funeral Home, Starr Ave. and S. Coy Rd. in Oregon, where funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday. The family suggests tributes to the Toledo Area Humane Society or Planned Pethood.
