Jeanette P. Vargo, 84 of Bowling Green and formerly of Toledo, passed away Wednesday, October 8, 2003 in the Wood County Nursing Home. Jeanette was born on March 30, 1919 in Rossford, Ohio to Michael and Phyllis (Ozanski) Stempien. She was the widow of John Vargo. She and her husband were former owners and operators of J & J Market on West Bancroft Street and in later years she was a floor supervisor for the Boca Raton Hotel in Boca Raton, Florida. Mrs. Vargo was a member of St. Stephen Church. Surviving are her daughter, Patricia Litten and grandchildren, James (Irene) Litten, Kevin (Sheila) Litten and Jonette (Rob) Schmidt, Rick (Deb) Hatfield, Jill (Greg)Christian, Kelly (Jim) Canales, Jenise (Rod) Foor; great grandchildren, Michelle, Nicholas, Nicole, Nicholas, Chaz, Lindy, Kacy, Kylee, Kendyl, Brianna, Brittany and Sarah and two great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, son, Charles E. Hatfield, daughter, Joyce Wagner and daughter-in-law, Patricia Hatfield. Visitation will be held Friday from 2-9 pm in the Kinsey Funeral Home Birmingham Chapel 2001 Consaul Street with recitation of the Rosary at 4pm. Funeral services will begin in the funeral home on Saturday at 9:30 and proceed to St. Stephen Church for the Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 10:00 am. Interment will be private.
